They have cut back so much, all the employees that are left are just jaded. So is the bell service, front desk and most other things. The problem is they have cut back too much and the people that are left are overworked, unhappy and a negative vibe permeates the atmosphere everywhere you go. Bottom line - the economy crashed on these guys and they have cut back on EVERYTHING to try and stay above water.
It took me two hours to check in recently, the room type I wanted was unavailable, and I was told I could not change to that room type the next day because they 'didn't want to turnover another room with housekeeping.' In 30 years of staying at hotels, I have never been told I couldn't switch rooms because of housekeeping costs. The employees are all jaded with management, the place is understaffed, and it is a shadow of what it once was. I want to still love it, but the staffing, service and atmosphere have gone downhill very far. I have been coming to Foxwoods since it has opened.
